Broken wheat/ Lapsi – 1 cup
Ghee – 2 tbsp
Sugar – 1/2 cup
Cardamom powder – 1 tbsp
Chopped nuts – 2 tbsp
Chopped pistachios for garnish
Water – 3-4 cups

  1. In a hot pan, melt ghee and add the broken wheat to it.
  2. It will take about 5-8 minutes for you to start getting a fragrant aroma and the lapsi will start changing it’s colour.
  3. At this point, add water & sugar and leave it to cook covered for doe At least 15-20 more mins.
  4. Once done, sprinkle the cardamom powder, toss in the chopped nuts & give everything a good mix. (Make sure there is no water left in the lapsi)
  5. Serve hot garnished with chopped pistachios.
