Beetroot Idlis

  • Idli batter-1 & ½ cup
  • Boiled & grated beetroot-1
  • Oil-1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds-½ tsp
  • Curry leaves-7 to 8
  • Urad daal-1 tsp
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • Coconut chutney to serve
  1. To the idli batter, add the grated beetroot.
  2. For the tadka, heat the oil & then add all the ingredients one by one.
  3. Pour the tadka over the idli batter. Mix well. Season with salt.
  4. Grease the idli molds with some oil, pour a ladle full of batter into the molds.
  5. Steam the idlis for 5-7 mins.
  6. Pack in the tiffin once they cool a little along with coconut chutney.
