Elaichi Bananas – 4
Jaggery powder – 1/2 cup
Rava (semolina) 1 tbsp
Rice flour – 1 cup
Baking Soda – a pinch
Salt – a pinch
Milk – 1 to 2 tbsp (or as required to make a thick batter)
Chopped nuts – 1/4 cup
Oil for deep frying
Cardamom powder – 1 tsp

    1. Heat oil in a pan.
    2. In a bowl mash the bananas and add jaggery powder to it. Mix well till it dissolves completely.
    3. Then add the rice flour, rava, baking soda & salt. Make sure everything is well combined. To adjust the consistency you can use milk.
    4. The batter has to be thick enough to ensure that round balls can be formed.
    5. Add the nuts & elaichi powder & give everything a good mix.
    6. Make sure the oil is hot enough before you start frying the uni appams. Deep fry them on medium flame until they are golden & crispy on the outside & cooked from inside!

Serve hot!
