Crispy Healthy Snack Mix (Nut & Seed Trail Mix with Paneer)

🥕 Ingredients

🥜 The Nut & Seed Base

  • Almonds – 120 g

  • Cashews – 90 g

  • Coconut chips (unsweetened) – 50 g

  • Paneer – 50 g (finely grated)

  • Pumpkin seeds – 60 g

  • Sunflower seeds – 70 g


🌶 Masala Coating

  • Ghee – 2 tbsp

  • Hing (asafoetida) – ½ tsp

  • Red chili powder – 1 tsp

  • Black pepper – 1 tsp (freshly ground)

  • White pepper – ½ tsp

  • Garlic powder – 1 tsp

  • Salt – to taste

🍳 Method

1️⃣ Roast the Nuts

Place a heavy-bottomed pan over low flame.
Add almonds and cashews and roast slowly until lightly golden and aromatic.


2️⃣ Roast the Seeds

Using the same pan, dry roast pumpkin seeds for 2–3 minutes until they start to pop slightly.


3️⃣ Toast the Coconut

Add unsweetened coconut chips and roast on low heat until crisp and lightly browned.


4️⃣ Prepare the Paneer Crumbles

Finely grate paneer and roast it on low-medium heat until it turns dry and slightly crunchy like crackers.


5️⃣ Make the Masala Tempering

In the same pan, heat ghee on low flame.
Add hing first, followed by chili powder, black pepper, white pepper, and garlic powder.


6️⃣ Combine and Toss

Add all roasted nuts, seeds, coconut chips, and paneer crumbs into the pan.
Mix thoroughly so the masala coats everything evenly.


7️⃣ Cool and Store

Spread the mixture on a large tray and allow it to cool completely.
Store in an airtight container to retain crispness.
