Sattu Beetroot Hummus

Ingredients:

1 large boiled beetroot
1 cup roasted channa dal
2 tsp toasted white sesame seeds
2 garlic cloves
1–2 tbsp lemon juice (adjust to taste)
½ tsp roasted cumin powder
6 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 to 3 Ice cubes
Salt to taste

For Garnish & Serving:

Extra Virgin Olive oil (for drizzling)
Red chilli powder
Pita bread (to serve)

 

Method:

1. In a blender jar, add channa dal, beetroot and blend into a smooth paste.
2. Add sesame seeds, garlic, lemon juice, cumin powder, olive oil and salt.
3. Blend again till creamy and smooth. Adjust salt and lemon if needed.
4. Transfer to a serving bowl.
5. Drizzle olive oil on top and sprinkle red chilli powder.
6. Serve with warm pita bread or crackers.
