Minced Mutton-1kg
Olive oil-3 tbsp
Chopped onion-1 -2 medium-sized
Garlic Cloves(chopped)-4-5
Chopped celery-2 Tbsp
Finely Diced carrots-1/4cup
Salt to taste
Crushed pepper-1tsp
Bay leaves-2
Chopped Rosemary leaves -1tbsp
Red wine-1/2cup
Tomato sauce-1 Tbsp
Worcestershire sauce-2tbsp
Mashed potatoes
Boiled, peeled & Grated Potatoes-5-6(medium size)
Butter-2tbsp
Milk-1/2cup
Salt-a pinch
Crushed black pepper-1tsp
Grated parmesan cheese for topping – 1/4 cup or as desired
- Take a deep saucepan or heavy-bottomed pan, add oil, once hot, add bay leaves, followed by garlic. Let them turn slightly golden then add the celery, sauté and little and then add the onions. Cook till the onions turn translucent.
- Now add the diced carrots & partially cook them.
- Now add the minced mutton keeping the flame high and cook till it changes color. Season with salt & pepper.
- Then add the chopped rosemary, tomato sauce, worcestershire sauce & red wine & let it cook on slow flame for about 15-20 minutes or till the meat becomes tender. (cover your pan while cooking it)
- While the mutton is cooking, take another pan and keeping the heat on low, add butter, grated potatoes, milk & cook while stirring to get a smooth consistency.
- Season with salt & crushed black pepper.
- Cool and transfer to a piping bag.
- Now Preheat the oven to 170°C
- Add the cooked mutton to the baking dish.
- Pipe out the Mashed potato on top.
- Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese on top & bake it for 15-18 minutes ensuring the top gets a golden colour.
- Garnish with parsley & Serve hot.
