Ingredients
Dates (seedless) – 1 cup
Warm milk – ¼ cup (adjust as needed)
Walnuts – ¾ cup, chopped
Fresh grated coconut – ½ cup
Ghee – 2 tbsp
Cardamom (elaichi) powder – ½ tsp
Chopped toasted walnuts – for coating
Method
1. Toast walnuts on low flame till golden and aromatic. Remove and keep aside.
2. Lightly roast grated coconut in 1 tbsp ghee till fragrant (do not brown).
3. Blend dates with warm milk into a smooth paste.
4. In the same pan, add the date paste and cook for 3–4 minutes till it thickens.
5. Add elaichi powder, remaining ghee, and roasted coconut. Mix well.
6. Finally, stir in the chopped toasted walnuts. Cook for a minute till mixture leaves the pan sides.
7. Spread the mixture evenly in a tray, smooth the surface, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
8. Cut into neat squares and coat with chopped toasted walnuts for extra crunch and a festive look.
